Who We Are
Stanford University's South Asian Society (SAS) is a collective of South Asian students working to educate, celebrate, and share the South Asian experience.
What We Do
From educating upon social and political issues to celebrating South Asian culture and holidays to sharing Bollywood music with Stanford non-South Asian populous, SAS does it all. We use our presence to bring together South Asian and non-South Asian student populations at Stanford.
Why We Do It
Our efforts all culminate from the general purpose of fostering community. We aim to unite students through a love for a shared South Asian or Desi identity. From various backgrounds rooted in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, we want students to come together and celebrate themselves and their communities.
